Construction is complete on The Downing, an eight-story mixed-use building at 108 Downing Street in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed by Daniel Kimya under the Fulton Star LLC, the structure yields 50 rental apartments with 15 designated for affordable housing, and 9,196 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. The Corcoran Group is in charge of marketing the homes and Fulton Star LLC was the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Fulton Avenue and Downing Street.
Recent photos show the finished appearance of the building’s exterior, which is composed of red brick surrounding floor-to-ceiling windows framed by black mullions. A metal framework awning protrudes above the ground-floor frontage, and the roof is shown topped with railings for a terrace space.
TriStateCR is in charge of leasing the divisible retail space, which offers 14-foot ceiling heights and tenant arrangements spanning between 1,100 to 8,100 square feet.
Columns of angular bond patterns intersperse the brick façade between the windows, adding a textural flourish to 108 Downing Street’s appearance.
Units come with Bosch washers and dryers, dishwashers, air conditioning, smart controls for heating and cooling, intercoms, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes. The pet-friendly residential amenities include bike storage lockers, a gym, storage, package lockers, a rooftop terrace with 360-degree views over the neighborhood, a communal laundry room, and an on-site resident manager.
The nearest subway from the property is the C train at the Clinton-Washington Avenues station to the west at the corner of Fulton Street and Clinton Avenue.

The architect has truly elevated the standards of beautifying Fulton Street with their creative vision. The attention to detail and aesthetics are commendable, and it’s refreshing to see such thoughtfulness in urban design. This project is a testament to the positive impact that well-designed buildings can have on our community. Kudos to the architect for contributing to the enhancement of Fulton Street’s aesthetic appeal.

Nice fluting brickwork detail. It dresses up an otherwise fairly dull but generally inoffensive building.
I love the beautiful coordination of angles like this, it seems like the building was designed to be a private space rather than mixing with other people: Thanks.
Well done
