Permits have been filed for a nine-story religious center at 726 Church Avenue in Kensington, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of East 8th Street and Church Avenue, the lot is closest to the Church Avenue subway station, serviced by the F and G trains. Saiful Alam of the Brooklyn Islamic Center is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 110-foot-tall development will yield 52,390 square feet designated for community facility space. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and 28 enclosed parking spaces.
BFS Architect is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely be needed for the parking lot on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
