Over the summer, Tribeca-based DDG broke ground on a 32-story tower at 180 East 88th Street, which will one day by the tallest building above 72nd Street, standing 521 feet to its pinnacle. Now, YIMBY has the first look at what the view from the upper reaches of the tower will entail. The building’s 48 condominiums will feature two-, three- and four-bedroom configurations, and a penthouse duplex will be located on the top two floors. Commercial space will also span 52,000 square feet in the base. HTO Architect is the architect of record, while DDG is designing in-house, and sales are expected to launch this fall.
Back in February, Tribeca Citizen posted the first images for DDG’s new condo project coming to 12 Warren Street, in Tribeca. Since then, construction has made major headway, a teaser site has gone live, and now a tipster has sent along a new exterior of the building, as well as the first interior.
Tribeca-based developer DDG has just started construction on 180 East 88th Street, set to become the tallest tower above 72nd Street, when it tops out at 521 feet.
On adjacent triangular parcels at 100 Franklin Street — between West Broadway and Sixth Avenue, in Tribeca — DDG plans to develop two mixed-use buildings of six and eight stories tall, totaling 10 condominiums, with retail space on the ground floor. According to Crain’s Business, the Board of Standards and Appeals has granted DDG a variance to ignore a required upper-level set-back. The project is being designed in-house, and ground breaking is expected by the Fall, with completion is 2017. The LPC approved the project in January 2014.
