168 Plymouth Street’s Expansion and Conversion Taking Shape in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Work is progressing on the loft conversion and two-story expansion of 168 Plymouth Street in the DUMBO, Brooklyn Historic District. Alloy Development is bringing 46 units to the 100-year-old structure that was once the home of the Concrete Daylight Factory, aka 42 Jay Street. The adjacent 130-year-old Brick & Timber Building, aka 50 Jay Street, is also undergoing renovations and a one-story expansion atop the original roof parapet.

Front & York Tops Out at 85 Jay Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Construction has topped out on Morris Adjmi Architects’ Front & York, a 1.1-million-square-foot residential project at 85 Jay Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Developed by CIM Group and LIVWRK, the 21-story structure spans a full block and will yield 728 apartments with prices starting around $950,000.

53 Pearl Street’s Approved Plans Await Construction In DUMBO, Brooklyn

BKSK Architects‘ approved plans that were last submitted to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), which call for a renovation and expansion of 53 Pearl Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn, await construction. The team revealed its latest design for the 140-year-old Italianate-style structure a year ago after initial plans from March 2019 that called for a tall multi-story addition at the rear of the property, were denied for being both “out of scale” and “contextually inappropriate.” The building was once a factory for the Masury Paint Company and was transformed into rental apartments several years ago.

30 Front Street Begins Ascent in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Construction has gone vertical at 30 Front Street, a 26-story mixed-use building in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group, the 270-foot-tall building will contain 74 apartments, averaging 2,400 square feet apiece.

Marvel Architects Reveals Updated Proposals for 29 Jay Street In DUMBO, Brooklyn

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) will soon review updated proposals to redevelop an existing two-story warehouse into an 11-story commercial building at 29 Jay Street in Brooklyn. Designed by Marvel Architects, the updated proposals refer specifically to the building’s facade and required mechanicals on the roof level.
