The Hurricane Maria Memorial Commission has unveiled a vibrant memorial honoring the 3,000 victims of Hurricane Maria and the resilience of New York City’s Puerto Rican community. The Hurricane Maria Memorial is located at the Chambers Street Overlook in Battery Park City near Chambers Street and North End Avenue.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 293 and 301 Hooper Street, two six-story residential buildings in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The buildings were built in the 1910s and have 35 residential units each. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 11 recently renovated units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $43,303 to $112,800.
Exterior work is progressing on The Spiral, a 66-story, 1,041-foot-tall commercial supertall at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by Tishman Speyer, the structure occupies a full block between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues and 34th and 35th Streets and is poised to yield a whopping 2.85 million square feet of office space. Turner Construction Company is serving as the construction manager, Banker Steel is in charge of manufacturing the steel, and Permasteelisa is the contractor for the glass enclosure for the project, which is expected to cost $3.7 billion.
Construction is nearing completion on the Le Meridien Hotel, a 21-story mixed-use tower at 292 Fifth Avenue in NoMad. The 187-key hotel rises 21 stories tall on a plot between West 30th and West 31st Streets, and is designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by McSam Hotel Group, which purchased the site for approximately $42.4 million in March 2017.
This spring, developers will launch sales at Wonder Lofts, a residential conversion project at a former Wonder Bread Factory in Hoboken, New Jersey. The property is located at 720 Clinton Street and houses 83 loft-style condominiums, 14,400 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, and thoughtfully curated interior accents throughout.
