Another piece of the puzzle has fallen into place for Lower East Side megaproject Essex Crossing. Applications have been filed for a 25-story, mixed-use building at 180 Broome Street, between Delancey, Clinton, and Suffolk streets.
Staten Island-based WB Development has filed applications for a four-story, seven-unit residential building at 183 Devoe Street, in central Williamsburg. The project will measure 6,407 square feet and its residential units should average 657 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. The structure will be topped by a roof deck. Nicholas Scire-Chianetta’s Brooklyn-based NSC Architecture is the architect of record. The 23-foot-wide, 2,300-square-foot property is currently occupied by a two-story townhouse. Demolition permits haven’t been filed. The Graham Avenue stop on the L train is located around the block.
As residential towers begin to rise around the former Domino Sugar factory in South Williamsburg, a much more modest project is nearing the finish line a few blocks inland, on South 1st Street between Berry Street and Bedford Avenue. Investmates Real Estate is putting the finishing touches on four two-family townhouses as 127-131 South 1st Street, not far from the Williamsburg Bridge or the restaurants and shops along the waterfront.
A pre-Civil War residential structure in Brooklyn will be getting the tender love and care it very much needs. On Tuesday, the Landmarks Preservation Commission approved a proposal to reconstruct the façade of 17 Fillmore Place, located in the small Fillmore Place Historic District.
CW Realty Management has entered into contract to acquire, for $45 million, the development assemblage at 187-201 Kent Avenue and 48-50 North 3rd Street, located three blocks in from the East River in northern Williamsburg. The plan is for a 140,000-square-foot mixed-use building with retail space and rental apartments, The Real Deal reported. Retail will be located on the ground and cellar levels, and there will also be a parking garage. The number of units is unknown at this time. The 23,150-square-foot assemblage is currently occupied by one- and two-story warehouses, one of which is currently used as event space. Demolition permits haven’t been filed.
