Nearly a decade in the making, a Williamsburg residential project is finally nearing the finish line. The 51-unit, seven-story development at 150 North 12th Street has topped out, as seen in photos sent to us by our friend Tectonic.
Foundations are complete for a residential building at 583 Lorimer Street in Brooklyn. The five-story, six-unit building rises just half a block north of the G and L subway stop at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Lorimer Street.
Longtime music venue The Living Room shut its doors at 134 Metropolitan Avenue a few months ago, and now the landlord is planning to expand the building and add apartments.
Foundation work is underway for a four-story apartment building at 535 Lorimer Street in Williamsburg. The 10-unit project, listed under the permit address of 539 Lorimer Street, sits within the core of the Brooklyn neighborhood, at the junction of the G and L trains.
Last year, we reported that New York City’s population had increased by 52,700 people between 2013 and 2014, hitting 8,491,079, and nearing what the city had previously projected for 2020. Today, the American Community Survey released updated data as of July 1st, 2015, showing another large increase of 55,211, putting the five boroughs’ population at 8,550,405 — just 502 people short of the official 2020 projection.
