Ticket sales launched yesterday for SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, the newest observatory in Manhattan located in the crown of One Vanderbilt in Midtown East. SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is a 65,000-square-foot, four-level entertainment space atop the 1,401-foot-tall commercial supertall developed by SL Green Realty and designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox. Interiors were designed by Snøhetta, with the immersive walk-through art experience designed by Kenzo Digital.

First Glimpses of Summit One Vanderbilt, Highest Observatory in Manhattan’s Midtown East

Yesterday SL Green Realty Corp. unveiled their plans for Summit One Vanderbilt, the new observatory space located in the crown of One Vanderbilt, a 1,401-foot-tall commercial supertall in Midtown East. Opening on October 21st, the 65,000-square-foot experience center will top the 77-story skyscraper designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and deliver views of all five boroughs. One Vanderbilt encompasses an entire block immediately to the west of Grand Central Terminal with Summit One Vanderbilt directly connected directly to the massive transit hub. Interiors of Summit One Vanderbilt are designed by Snøhetta with art installations by Kenzo Digital.

Work Continues on ‘The Summit’ Observatory Atop One Vanderbilt in Midtown East

Work is moving along on the observatory in One Vanderbilt, a 1,401-foot-tall commercial supertall in Midtown East and number four on our countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in the city. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by SL Green, the 77-story skyscraper occupies a full-block parcel immediately to the west of Grand Central Terminal. Though the $1.4 billion property has been officially open since its ribbon-cutting ceremony in mid September, the indoor-outdoor observatory dubbed The Summit isn’t due to welcome the public until October 2021.
