YIMBY Tours Skyline Tower, Queens’ Future Tallest Building

YIMBY recently went on a hard hat tour of Skyline Tower, aka 23-15 44th Drive. The residential skyscraper will eventually rise 778 feet over Long Island City and become the tallest building in Queens, as well as the tallest building in New York City outside of Manhattan. Work has progressed to the 26th floor of the future 67-story tower, and construction crews have been pouring the reinforced slabs at a rapid rate of two floors per week.

The Jardim at 527 West 27th Street Nearing Completion in Chelsea

The Jardim at 527 West 27th Street is an upcoming 11-story residential complex in Chelsea. It stands adjacent to Zaha Hadid’s 520 West 28th Street project. The new property has already topped out and almost all the exterior work is finished, with only minor touches awaiting completion on the ground level and top floors. Meanwhile, the interiors of the 36 units are being fitted out, each averaging 2,500 square feet. The 90,000-square-foot undertaking is being designed by Isay Weinfeld and developed by Centaur Properties and Pizzarotti.

Situated across the street from the ABC News television studios on the Upper West Side is the site of 50 West 66th Street. Just off of Columbus Avenue, the future 775-foot high residential tower will be the tallest on the Upper West Side when complete. It is being designed by Snohetta and developed by Extell, and is currently the 23rd tallest skyscraper under construction in the Five Boroughs.
