Yesterday, YIMBY brought you fresh renderings of Related’s planned supertall at 50 Hudson Yards. While permits for that project were only partially filed earlier this year, across Hudson Park & Boulevard, the building’s sibling at 55 Hudson Yards has now officially topped-out, as seen in the latest photos from Tectonic.
Related’s Hudson Yards development is one of the most impressive construction projects in the history of New York City, and an armada of cranes currently dominates the Midtown West skyline as towers at 15, 30, 35, and 55 Hudson Yards continue to rise. Now, YIMBY has the latest details for the office behemoth that will soon be coming to 50 Hudson Yards, as well as news on what’s happening at the Western Railyards, which will add further to the neighborhood’s burgeoning forest of skyscrapers.
Hudson Yards has been making headlines in recent months thanks to the substantial progress of Related’s development over and surrounding the Eastern Railyards, which is now yielding a forest of skyscrapers. But immediately to the northwest, another tower that’s been in the making for an equally long period of time may have just received a boost to become the tallest of them all. A new rendering of the Moinian Group’s 3 Hudson Boulevard has surfaced, showing both an updated design for the building itself, as well as the addition of a 300-foot spire, that would make the supertall the tallest in the neighborhood.
Hudson Yards is making major progress, with Related’s core redevelopment over the Eastern Yards now racing towards completion. While progress on the Western Yards is still a few years away, another large site on the southern side of West 30th Street is set for an impressive transformation from under-used retail and industrial buildings into a two-towered residential and commercial project that will top-out 700 feet above street level.
Spitzer Enterprises and Related Companies are partnering to develop a two-tower, 1.4 million square-foot mixed-use project at 511 West 35th Street and 451 Tenth Avenue, located in Hudson Yards.
