YIMBY readers Dave & Ava have sent in more photos of the CitizenM Hotel, which looks quite different from the renderings at this point. The top is apparently a tumor-like penthouse rather than a raised box for advertisements. The project’s architects were clearly on a tight budget or incredibly lazy, but the CitizenM finally looks to be nearing completion. Compare and contrast the latest photos with the rendering, and the difference is quite obvious.
The flag is flying so it is topped out. It looks very boring now. We are 1 block away and the noise is a little lower. At this height, there will be little view of Times Square on New Years eve. Our building is 42 floors, but we can’t see Times Square, since our view is north-facing. More pix as things get completed.

Thanks! Will post the update tomorrow. Great pictures as usual!
