Permits have been filed for the redevelopment of 22 Thames Street, which will be 56 stories and 637 feet tall. 22 Thames will have 428 units. No renderings of the project have been released, but the architect of record (Goldstein Hill & West) typically designs glassy boxes that are bland but not bad. At less than 700 feet, the project will blend into the rest of the skyline.
As the permits appear to still be going through the approval process, there’s no timeline on when the building will begin to rise. Still, the FiDi’s gradual addition of residential space is the best thing to happen to the neighborhood, making it somewhat livelier beyond working hours.

Have you seen the existing building at 22 Thames?
It is a beautful historic structure and was one the original skyscrapers of New York.
Its demolition is yet another crime against the city.
I am not anti-developement. I would love to see the two school buildngs next to it torn down.
IF 22 thames is landmarked , the air right can be transfered to the World Trade Center site.
I am all for taller towers then planned at wtc.
Please wake up and protect this building for future generations.
