330 Hudson Street is coming along quite nicely. The conversion of the building into a mixed-use structure (office and hotel) is well underway, and is one of the better projects ongoing in New York right now. Designed by BBG-BBGM, the expansion of the building manages to incorporate all the original building’s historic elements while still allowing for a boutique hotel to rise above the original office space.
No facade is evident yet, but the skeleton of the expansion is nearing completion. If all conversions and expansions in New York could emulate 330 Hudson, it would be a welcome sight for everyone. The expansion manages to incorporate timeless aesthetics into the addition, and also preserves the building’s existing historic base. The project is nothing cutting-edge, but that isn’t necessary for excellence; 330 Hudson is definitely an A+ project.
Once completed, the office portion will have 292,000 square feet of space while the hotel will have 171 rooms. The project will also have 15,000 square feet of retail at its base.
