Most recent work on 432 Park Avenue has been underground, but there has also been progress on the building’s base. The core has risen to the third floor, and form work for the walls and doorways of the ground floor is also being assembled, a milestone for the project. Construction should speed up on the main tower after the podium is complete, which also includes a large retail component along 57th Street.
The 432 Park cameras give a better perspective of the entire site, and show the core of the tower is actually quite small. Much of the plot’s footprint will eventually be occupied by retail space, although CIM–the property’s developer–has been mum on final designs and potential tenants.
Side note: the glare in the photos was quite terrible, so an attempt was made using photoshop to correct. The canyons of Manhattan are unkind when it comes to light & photographs at street level, so pictures of 432 Park should definitely improve as the tower rises.
