Construction Update: Fordham Lincoln Center and 160 West 62nd Street

Exterior work is beginning to wrap up on Fordham Lincoln Center’s new Law School & dormitory, but Glenwood’s 160 West 62nd Street is still rising quickly. In the span of ten months, the southern edge of Lincoln Center has changed dramatically–proof in these photos of the site, from March of last year. Under the final build out of Fordham’s master plan, even the new Law School building will be boxed in.

Work hasn’t begun yet on the new towers set to rise on the Columbus Avenue corners of the super-block, as those are slated to be the one of the last parts of the overall plan. The next part of the plan to rise will be the residential tower on the corner of 60th and Amsterdam, just a block south of the Glenwood building, though ground on that tower has not yet been broken.

  1. The New Fordham University Law School Center and dormitories look fantastic. I never really paid much attention to this project, but after reviewing its schematics, it turns out to be a lovely addition to the Lincoln Center area.

  2. Strongly agree! The cladding is phenomenal and such a nice break from the glass buildings going up all over NYC.

  3. I disagree. The buildings block the afternoon sun shining on Damrosch Park and even Lincoln Center Plaza. The plaza is in shadows and much less of the public is not “hanging out” there any more. It is too bad for the neighborhood.
