The first permits are up for a project focusing on ‘adult homes and enriched housing’ at 280 Eldert Street, in Brooklyn’s Bushwick neighborhood. While the architect remains unknown, the developer is Robert Scott of RMSEH LLC.

DOB filings indicate the building will span 16,718 square feet, including 2,623 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor. The remainder of the site will be divided amongst 19 residential units, and the structure will stand 11 stories and 114 feet to its roof.

Several vacant lots exist in the immediate surrounding neighborhood, which only recently began to revitalize; while the amount of new housing at 280 Eldert Street will be relatively minimal, it will still mark an improvement over the site’s current structure. Much of the vicinity is under-utilized, and the neighborhood’s transit-accessibility — given proximity to the L train — will hopefully result in more infill and densification over the coming years.
