North of the city, outside of New York YIMBY’s usual ambit, a $100 million, 330-unit luxury rental building broke ground on Tuesday in the Greystone section of Yonkers.
The River Tides at Greystone will sit at 1133 Warburton Avenue, overlooking the Hudson River and New Jersey Palisades. The project is being developed by Martin Ginsburg’s Ginsburg Development Companies, which has built a number of properties in Westchester County.
The 330 apartments will run the gamut from studios to three-bedrooms, and will be just a short walk from the Greystone station on Metro-North’s Hudson Line. Amenities, per the press release, include “full concierge service, elegant two-story lobby, elegant club lounge; fitness and wellness center with available personal trainers, yoga classes and spa treatments; and a spectacular resort-style swimming pool and deck with cabana seating, seven barbecue stations, playground and outdoor fire pit lounge.”
GDC’s in-house team designed the project, while the architect of record is Warshauer Mellusi Warshauer, of Hawthorne, New York.
The site has been owned by GDC since the 1970s, and it is being developed with the help of $3.7 million in tax exemptions from the Yonkers Industrial Development Agency; occupancy is tentatively expected by the end of 2016.
