Development in the towns along the Hudson River is slowly starting to pick up, and now YIMBY has a rendering for a new luxury rental project in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson, dubbed the Lofts on Saw Mill River.
The three buildings along Saw Mill River Road will host 66 “loft-style” rentals, including 12 affordable units “mandated by the County’s affordable housing settlement with the federal government,” according to the developer.
Ginsburg Development Companies just broke ground on the complex, which will include two three-story buildings with 27 units each, and one two-story building for the affordable units.
Rents will range from $2,900 for a 950-square-foot one-bedroom to $5,000 for a 1,656-square-foot three-bedroom unit. The affordable apartments will be set aside for families making up to 60 percent of the Area Median Income, asking rents from $874 for a studio up to $1,484 for a three-bedroom.
The developer has promised to transform part of the property, a former parking lot, into 1.8 acres of green space for the village. They’ll also build a 10-space parking lot and pedestrian bridge to the South County Trailway, which runs next to the site.
GDC is also building rentals in less pricey parts of Westchester County, including a 188-unit luxury project in Ossining and a 330-unit complex overlooking the Hudson in Yonkers. And next month, they’ll open a 106-unit rental called Harbors-at-Haverstraw on the waterfront in Rockland.
