Yoseif Partners has filed applications for a five-story, single-family residence spanning 152-154 East 78th Street, on the Upper East Side. Previous plans called for the combination of two existing four-story townhouses, which would hold three residential units, but new applications would produce a 13,050 square-foot building. Demolition applications have yet to be filed for the townhouses, and Sawyer|Berson is designing.

  1. Boo, more NYC destruction of historic properties for some rich people.

  2. First came the demolition of the Third Avenue Cottages between 77th and 78th St to make way for the cheesy “Empire” condo building. Most recently it was the ridiculously outsized faux classical 151 East 78th St. And now, yet another monument to the vanity of wealth is about to bring down two more houses on what was once one of the upper east sides loveliest blocks. Not anymore.
