In May of 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of the mixed-use redevelopment of the dilapidated five-story former school building at 2269 First Avenue in the East Village, and now construction is underway, per Harlem+Bespoke. The existing 69,093 square foot building will be expanded by 25,000 square feet and four stories, and will contain 90 residential units and 3,995 square feet of ground-floor retail space once complete. Acuity Capital Partners is developing, and Issac & Stern Architects is designing.

  1. There’s a misprint. It says “former school building at 2269 First Avenue in the East Village” when you mean to say “East Harlem.” Great article otherwise. Keep up the good work.
