Construction is now six stories above street level on the first of two 15-story, mixed-use buildings under development at 207 Van Vorst Street, in Jersey City’s Paulus Hook section. Work, presumably excavation, has also begun on the second building. Fields Development Group is the developer and Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects is behind the design.
The building currently rising will feature 255 residential units and 7,237 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The second building will contain 154 residential units in addition to 7,305 square feet of ground-floor retail. All of the apartments will be rentals. The first building is expected to wrap up construction in late 2017, followed by its neighbor in 2018, Jersey Digs reported.
