Leasing has begun for a new mixed-use complex in Jersey City, dubbed SoHo Lofts. The newly opened 377-unit building at 273 16th Street is the second project by Manhattan Building Company, aka MBC, in an area of Jersey City they hope to rebrand as SoHo West, SoHo meaning South of Hoboken, and West for its location, immediately west of Manhattan. Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop attended the celebration and was given the ceremonial role of cutting the ribbon to celebrate the opening.
The project consists of a 14-story and 21-story building connected by a five-story podium. The podium provides a soaring lobby, amenities, and an enclosed parking space. Residencies range in size from 622 square feet to over 3,400 square feet. Ceilings are ten feet.
The first project by MBC, Cast Iron Lofts Collection, which opened last year, created 387 apartments for the area, and now holds more than 800 residents. This new project would further cement their commitment to redefining the neighborhood.
The new complex comes with even more amenities. These include large windows, kitchen appliances, 24-hour concierge, attended valet parking, private party rooms, an arcade lounge, media room, tech lounge, conference rooms, children’s playroom, fitness center, a sauna, and a dog grooming suite. An outdoor amenity deck features an infinity edge pool with aqua jets. A movie theater, hammock area, Zen garden, event pavilion for residents, and parks for dogs and children are also available for residents.
The site is also convenient to transport, with close proximity to downtown Jersey City and Hoboken, as well as complimentary shuttle services to nearby PATH stations and the NY waterfront ferry terminals.
