Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 2434 Bronx Park East at Allerton, a working-class neighborhood in The Bronx. The site is half a block from the New York Botanical Gardens. The site is seven blocks away from the Allerton Avenue subway station, which is serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Franc Gjini is behind the applications.
The 72-foot tall structure will yield 25,450 square feet, with 22,360 square feet dedicated to residential use. 38 luxury apartments will be created, averaging 588 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Tenants will have bicycle parking, with capacity for 19 bikes, recreational space on the first floor, and a top-floor lounge space. 11 parking spaces will be created.
Fred Geremia Architects will be responsible for the design.
Full demolition permits were filed for the site in August of 2017, and the estimated completion date is 2020.
