Work Begins, Rendering Revealed for 1402 York Avenue on the Upper East Side

1402 York Avenue, rendering via Crest Group

A new 11-story building is about to rise on the Upper East Side, between East 74th Street & East 75th Street, along York Avenue.  Permits for 1402 York Avenue were issued last month to begin construction on the new affordable housing structure, which will have a masonry and glass facade. The developer of the project is Crest Group.

Each floor will be one unit, averaging just under 2,000 square feet each, with 10 out of 11 residential spaces being homeownership units sold at below-market rates. The total scope of the building is 21,185 square feet. Kossar + Garry Architects is the architect of record and the general contractor is ZDG LLC, with foundations already approved last year.

Demolition of the original two-story masonry building on site was completed last year.

Construction equipment and boarded fences have arrived on site and completion is expected around January 2020.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: New item on its duty to design, through the air easily by wide glass.
