Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 438 Union Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is located half a block away from the Metropolitan Avenue subway station, serviced by the G and L trains, an area that is expecting a significant influx of similarly-scaled redevelopments over the next few years. Joel Schwartz of South Side Units is the developer.
The 75-foot tall structure will yield 12,730 square feet, with 9,200 square feet dedicated to residential use. 13 apartments will be created, averaging 700 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Residents will have access to bicycle parking, laundry, and an outdoor recreational rooftop terrace.
Peter Pizzimenti R.A. will be responsible for the design.
Demolition permits for the existing structure have been filed. The estimated completion date has not been announced.
