Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 596 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is one lot away from the Metropolitan Avenue subway station, serviced by the G and L trains. Joel Schwartz of Southside Units is behind the applications.

The 75-foot tall structure will yield 11,220 square feet, with 8,300 square feet dedicated to residential use. 12 apartments will be created, averaging 691 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Residents will have a laundry room, parking for six bicycles, and an outdoor rooftop terrace. One oddity for the proposal is that it does not feature retail space along a heavily trafficked commercial thoroughfare.

Peter Pizzimenti will be responsible for the design.

Demolition permits for the existing structure were filed last Friday. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: I’m lazy to compare so let’s look about a 6-story residential building.
