Permits have been filed for an 18-story hotel at 145 Bowery on the Lower East Side, Manhattan. Located between Grand Street and Broome Street, the corner lot is one block south of the Bowery subway station, serviced by the J and Z trains. The site is also one block north of the B and D trains at the Grand Street station. The Lightstone Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 193-foot-tall development will yield 127,081 square feet, with 85,831 square feet designated for hotel space. The building will have 300 rooms with an average unit scope of 286 square feet.

Neill Parker of Stonehill & Taylor Architects is responsible for the design.

Demolition permits were filed in October 2018 for the five-story mixed-use building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Is it known if this development is currently intended to be a so-called micro-room hotel, a type that’s beginning to trend at this time? Rumor has it that the selected operator will be Moxy, one of several operators of this type of hotel.
