Permits have been filed for a four-story apartment building at 831 Forest Avenue in Melrose, The Bronx. Located between East 158th Street and East 160th Street, the interior lot is three blocks west of the Prospect Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Kambiz Yaghoobian under the Forest LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 39-foot-tall development will yield 13,326 square feet, with 9,927 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 15 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 661 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar.
Badaly Architects is responsible for the design.
Demolition permits have not been filed as of yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

Another church going down.
I’m ok with it. David you still have room.
Bad-aly
The building will be built on the vacant lot adjacent to the church. The church will not be demolished.
Thank you. Google Maps, no surprise, is effed. I remember when it wasn’t a sea of sponsored businesses.
Sharon Baptist Church is 837 Forest Ave.
Guess the church sold their excess property? Well someone was sitting on the land..
Thanks for clearing that up. When they mentioned demolition permits for a empty lot?
So many churches are being converted to residential space with churches in them.
The Baptist church at 827 Forest Ave, next to the development lot, was originally built in 1912 as a synagogue: Beth Hamedrosh Hagodal Adath Israel.
Guess that community left. Nice old building.
Intrested,when ready,need 1bedroom apartment,please,may I get an application??
