Permits have been filed for an eight-story affordable housing building at 1591 Jesup Avenue in Morris Heights, The Bronx. Located between the Cross Bronx Expressway and Featherbed Lane, the lot is near the Mount Eden Avenue subway station, serviced by the 4 train. Arjan Gjushi under the Jesup Development LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 74-foot-tall development will yield 27,482 square feet, with 24,415 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 46 affordable independent residences for seniors with an average unit scope of 530 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and a 35-foot-long rear yard.

Badaly Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits have not been filed as of yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  2. Does anyone honestly believe Badaly actually designs all these buildings? I realize the designs are atrocious but it’s a small office. If anything, they probably offshore a significant amount of work to India. They are destroying the Bronx!
