The wavy glass curtain wall is now fully installed on the northern and southern elevations of the 281-foot-tall Pendry Manhattan West Hotel, aka Four Manhattan West. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield Properties, the topped-out, 21-story building is part of Midtown’s Manhattan West master plan, which sits directly across Tenth Avenue from Hudson Yards. The Pendry will eventually yield a total of 164 guest rooms and a selection of condominiums on the upper floors.

The last major section of the building to be completed is uppermost portion above the flat roof parapet. Yellow-colored insulation boards can be seen wrapped around the curved top. Interiors should be well underway at this point.

The Manhattan West complex will be comprised of four new buildings, which includes the Pendry hotel, and an existing structure, Five Manhattan West. Formerly known as 450 West 33rd Street, Five Manhattan West has been reclad in glass to match the rest of its new siblings. The current largest undertaking is the construction of Two Manhattan West, which will top out at 58 stories and rise 935 feet tall. Though much smaller in scope than this, the Pendry’s undulating façade will make it stand out from the rest of the buildings in the five-million-square-foot Midtown development.

The closest subways are the 7 train to the west between Tenth and Eleventh Avenue at Hudson Yards, and the A, C, E, New Jersey Transit and Amtrak trains to the east at Pennsylvania Station.

The Pendry Manhattan West Hotel is expected to open in 2021.
