A 31-story condominium tower is coming to Manhattan’s Upper East Side neighborhood thanks to a partnership between Hudson Companies and Evalon Company, a South Korean-based developer. Comprised of primarily one- and two-bedroom units, the development, which has not disclosed an address, promises a number of amenities and sweeping city views.

“This project will create a new standard for luxury living on the Upper East Side, and we are proud to partner with the Evalon Company to bring this vision to life,” said David Kramer, president of Hudson Companies. “Together, our companies will develop a first-class luxury high rise and market it to a worldwide audience as we create one of the first major condominium projects our city will see post-pandemic.”

Amenities will include a fitness center, roof terrace, sky lounge, library, and a children’s playroom.

A rendering by Hill West Architects depicts a rather boxy massing with a glass façade. It appears to have a five-story podium with ground-floor commercial space and very few setbacks. Adding interest to the exterior are varying patterns of windows and mullions.

The two companies previously teamed up to market Hudson’s One Clinton, a 38-story condo development, to Korean buyers. One Clinton is the residential portion of the redevelopment of the Brooklyn Heights branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, which was completed last year.

“The Hudson Companies is one of the premiere real estate development firms in New York City, and our continued collaboration with them is a sign of our faith and confidence in our ability to deliver on major projects together,” said Saeyoung Oh, president of Evalon NY. “We look forward to growing our relationship with Hudson while bringing this stellar luxury development to life.”

Completion is expected for the fourth quarter of 2024.

That’s at the corner of First and 78th. Its the lot that has been abandoned so long that there are now mature trees in it.
