The Bungalow has opened as the latest addition to the Brookfield Place shopping and recreational center in Battery Park City. Located at the Upper Plaza of Brookfield Place, the same location of Brookfield’s seasonal ice skating rink, the plaza draws inspiration from the beachside retreats of Montauk, Long Island and offers fast-casual dining, a specialty bar, bocce courts, and ample seating.
Beginning this summer, special events will take place twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays. Programming will include drink-and-draw evenings, themed music nights, kid-friendly events, flower bouquet and arrangement classes, and live portraiture. For select events, the venue will also host live musicians and guest DJs.
“We created The Bungalow to serve as a retreat for those seeking a public space in the city to relax and enjoy being around one another after so much time apart,” said Sara Fay, senior vice president of marketing for Brookfield Properties. “The concept was inspired by the atmosphere of a summer day in Montauk, spent under the sun with a refreshing cocktail and delicious food. The Bungalow celebrates life in the city and creates a welcoming and fun experience for office workers returning to Lower Manhattan, tourists exploring the waterfront, and everyday New Yorkers seeking out a new adventure.”
The Bungalow is free to enter.
