New renderings from Frank Quatela Architects illustrate a forthcoming multifamily property at 63 Pitt Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The 12-story building arrives from developer Prosper Property Group and will create 59 rental apartments.

The new property will comprise 56,589 square feet of residential area and include one cellar level and a slim rear yard. The mix of units will include 11 studios, 39 one-bedrooms, and nine two-bedrooms. A total of 18 apartments will be designated as affordable homes. All units will include a washer/dryer, hardwood floors, and oversized windows.

The latest architectural renderings show a bulky massing clad in a mix of light gray brick and paneling in various gradients of gray, surrounding an irregular grid of large windows. Two setbacks above the ninth and tenth floors will likely support private outdoor space for select units.

Residents will have access to a roof deck, a fitness room, basement storage, on-site laundry facilities, a package room, and bicycle parking. The development will not include an enclosed parking structure.

The five-story, 1920s-era tenement building that once stood at the development site has already been demolished. According to the developer, sub-grade excavation is now underway.
