The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Bedford, a 13-story residential building at 211 East 203rd Street in Bedford Park, The Bronx. Designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning and developed by partners Housing and Services Inc. and Robert Sanborn Development, the structure yields 108 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 41 units for residents at 40 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $103,120.
Residents will have access to a community room, multiple lounge areas, bike storage lockers, shared laundry room, a library, a learning center, and a landscaped rear yard and rooftop terrace. Units include energy-efficient appliances and air conditioning.
At 40 percent of the AMI, there are two studios with a monthly rent of $592 for incomes ranging from $22,800 to $38,200 and 11 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $740 for incomes ranging from $28,218 to $42,960.
At 50 percent of the AMI, there are eight one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $0 for incomes ranging from $0 to $53,700.
At 80 percent of the AMI, there are two one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,400 for incomes ranging from $50,846 to $85,920 and 18 two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,681 for incomes ranging from $61,372 to $103,120.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than November 15, 2021.
