531 Tinton Avenue in Mott Haven, The Bronx via NYC Housing Connect

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 531 Tinton Avenue, an eight-story residential building in Mott Haven, The Bronx. Designed by Rybak Architects, the structure yields 34 residences and ten parking spaces. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 11 residential units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $60,343 to $167,570.

Amenities include covered parking with assigned spaces, common area Wi-Fi, virtual doorman, community center, and a rooftop terrace. Units come equipped with name-brand appliances and finishes, energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, and hardwood floors. Residents are responsible for electricity.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are three studios with a monthly rent of $1,760 for incomes ranging from $60,343 to $124,150; five one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,820 for incomes ranging from $62,400 to $139,620; and three two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,060 for incomes ranging from $70,629 to $167,570.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than November 9, 2021.

  2. Does Affordable Lottery Housing have to be so dreadful? A decent architect could do something decent with exactly the same materials and budget.

  4. look on google maps and see the old wooden house with a porch that was demolished for this piece of crap building that isn’t affordable housing but income linked apartments
