The affordable housing lottery has launched for 101 West End Avenue, a 35-story residential building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by The Dermot Company, the structure was built in 1999 and yields 498 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 26 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $73,200 to $167,570.

Amenities include pet-friendly policies, a shared laundry room, gym, children’s playroom, rooftop terrace and access to an on-site resident manager and concierge. Units come will come with air conditioning, stainless steel and Energy Star appliances, quartz countertops, and some residences will have private outdoor space. Tenants are responsible for electricity.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are five studios with a monthly rent of $2,135 for incomes ranging from $73,200 to $124,150; 19 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,485 for incomes ranging from $85,200 to $139,620; and two two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,760 for incomes ranging from $94,629 to $167,570.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than January 27, 2022.

  1. once again this isn’t AFFORDABLE HOUSING but INCOME BASED RENTALS.
    This isn’t for poor people but high end middle class to upper class people

    look at these amenities , Air Conditioning WOW and these renters actually have access to a real life person resident manager, incredible bonus. I can’t believe it could be this good.

  3. By calling it “affordable housing,” and meeting some minimal requirements for it, the developer, thanks to deBlasio, gets city taxpayer-subsidized funding to build or renevate it, making those “affordable” rents really a windfall for the developer.

    Political payback comes in many ways…..!
