Excavation and Foundation Work Progresses at 375 Dean Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn

Excavation and foundation work are ramping up at 375 Dean Street, site of a 12-story residential building in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Developed by 35 Holding LLC, the 125-foot-tall structure will yield 79,715 square feet and 104 units, as well as a cellar and ground-floor retail space. Empire Management & Construction LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Dean Street and the busy corridor of Fourth Avenue.

Work is progressing behind the construction fence, though it was possible to get a glimpse of excavators digging below street level, with a significant portion of the lot already dug out. The surrounding foundation walls have been largely poured and completed. Given the pace of activity, it’s possible the reinforced concrete superstructure could begin to rise above street level this spring.

In the main rendering, 375 Dean Street is depicted from the southwestern corner of Dean Street and Fourth Avenue. The massing features a cubic design with a number of cantilevering and set back volumes, and an exterior composed of several different materials. The floor-to-ceiling windows are enclosed with dark mullions, and the majority of the surrounding surfaces are made up of light-colored brick, with several contrasting sections made up of darker material. Several of the setbacks are shown lined with landscaped terraces.

A completion date for 375 Dean Street has been posted for this upcoming November, though sometime in the first half of 2023 is more likely.

    Jenga beaten to death.

  2. The building looks like it has a nice choice of materials. But other than that, it is one giant mess.

  3. Really looking forward to this trend in architecture being in the rear view mirror.

  4. The people building these Jenga towers have a lot more faith in today’s waterproofing materials than I do. I foresee leaks galore in the not-too-distant future.

  5. Every trend, all at once.

  6. What a great bldg. the Williamsburg SB is!

  7. I need a 3 bedrooms apartment for my family and me
