Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 828 Metropolitan Avenue in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between Olive Street and Orient Avenue, the lot is within walking distance of the Graham Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. Konstantin Gubareff of Prospect Developers II is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 95-foot-tall development will yield 34,029 square feet, with 32,841 square feet designated for residential space and 1,188 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 49 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 670 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 35-foot-long rear yard, and eight enclosed parking spaces.
Kao Hwa Lee Architects PC is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

I hope this development doesn’t include that fine example of original shingles shown on the left. Thats what so much of Brooklyn looked like before the scourge of aluminum siding in the 1960s.
