Permits have been filed for an 18-story residential building at 27 Rockwell Place in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Located between Fulton Street and Dekalb Avenue, the interior lot is two blocks from the Dekalb Avenue subway station, serviced by the B, Q, and R trains, and the Nevins Street station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains. Chesky Rosen under the 19 Rockwell Place LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 184-foot-tall development will yield 100,652 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 147 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 684 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 30-foot-long rear yard, and 29 enclosed parking spaces.

DJLU Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in June 2021 for the three-story building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. At least this building can be sensibly demolished.

  2. This is turning into a very busy area, with Brooklyn’s future largest apartment building (by unit count) right across the street and another tower in the works across the street on Fulton (where demolition has reached the ground level this week). Love the density!
