Exterior work is wrapping up on FÖRENA, a 12-story residential building at 540 Sixth Avenue in Chelsea. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Landsea Homes and DNA Development, the 80,000-square-foot structure will yield 50 units in one- to three-bedroom layouts marketed by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of The Eklund Gomes Team and The Tuinstra Davis Team at Douglas Elliman, with pricing starting at $1.575 million. Ryder Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue.

Since our last update in January, the scaffolding and black netting that covered the upper levels above the stepped setbacks has been removed, revealing the finished appearance of the metal cladding on this portion of the envelope.

Metal railings are in the process of being installed around the stepped setbacks, which will be topped with private outdoor terraces. Crews were also seen fitting these spaces with doors, windows, and light fixtures. The mechanical equipment atop the roof parapet is still awaiting its final gray cladding.

The residences at FÖRENA are designed with ceiling heights that reach up to 13 feet, oversized windows, open-style kitchens with a complete Miele appliance package, Calacatta Regina marble slab countertops and backsplashes, and lacquered Italian cabinetry hand finished by artisans outside of Venice. Bathrooms are lined with Calacatta Regina di Montagna D’Argento marble and a custom-designed oak vanity with brushed nickel fixtures and oil-rubbed bronze accents.

First public appearance on facade, and very beautiful stepped on upper level. Building on a design where exterior and interior are made, that caused great connected: Thanks to Michael Young.

  2. It’s attractive. It’s not Adjmi’s best though in my opinion.

  3. It’s a very nice looking building and the interior renderings are first rate. Will it be too noisy there, even will triple-glazed windows? That’s one of the busiest, most heavily trafficked corners in Manhattan. Not sure I’d drop that kind of money for that location, regardless of how nice the units are.

  4. This looks surprisingly nice.
