The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1111 Foster Avenue, a six-story mixed-use building also addressed as 1039 Coney Island Avenue in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. Designed by Dome Architecture & Design, the structure yields 60 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 18 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $56,572 to $215,150.
Amenities include pet-friendly building, parking, bike storage, shared laundry room, common area wifi, gym, storage, virtual doorman and outdoor spaces include a rooftop terrace. Units come equipped with name-brand kitchen appliances, dishwasher, air conditioning, high speed internet, and balconies. Tenant are responsible for electricity, electric stove, and electric heat.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are four studios with a monthly rent of $1,650 for incomes ranging from $56,572 to $138,840; eight one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,950 for incomes ranging from $66,858 to $156,130; four two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,500 for incomes ranging from $85,715 to $187,330; and two three-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,975 for incomes ranging from $102,000 to $215,150.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than June 20, 2022.

How this is affordable? A studio is $1650.00 A one bedroom at $1950.00 and a two bedrooms unit at $2500.00 . What about a family with 2 or 3 children boys and girls who need a bedroom for each child and another for the parents? How are they going to afford a 3 bedrooms units if they have 3 children? Tell me how affordable these units are? Think about it! I would like a two bedrooms unit , but $2500.00 a month is too much for me.
