TF Cornerstone has acquired The Berkley, a 95-unit rental property in North Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located at 223 North 8th Street, the property comprises two mid-rise volumes connected by a shared podium and a 3,600-square-foot central courtyard.
The Berkley stands seven stories tall and features a red brick façade with a standard punched window system. The building steps back above the sixth floor to make room for private terraces. The residential component includes 76 market-rate units and 19 apartments designated for affordable housing. Floor plans range from studios up to two-bedroom layouts, all with wide-plank flooring and in-unit washer and dryers.
Private outdoor space is available for the majority of The Berkley apartments in the form of either a small balcony or a large terrace.
Building amenities include a roof deck with lounge seating and barbecue grills, a two-story fitness center with a yoga lawn, tenant storage, bike stations, and an on-site parking garage.
“As the pandemic wanes, TF Cornerstone is resolute in our belief that NYC will continue to thrive and outperform other cities’ rent growth and occupancy rates,” said Zoe Elghanayan of TF Cornerstone. “We’re thrilled to continue expanding in Williamsburg and leverage our existing presence in the Brooklyn neighborhood.”
This announcement follows TF Cornerstone’s acquisition of 250 North 10th Street in January 2020.
