Updated renderings from The J Associates and Input Creative Studios reveal exterior modifications for 1499 Bedford Avenue, a forthcoming rental property on the border of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights in Brooklyn. Compared to previous renderings, the masonry façade will now feature a mix of tan and black brick to create a more harmonious transition from the ground floor to the building’s upper levels.

From developer CW Realty, the building is still expected to comprise 160,000 square feet with 98 rental units and an enclosed parking garage designed to accommodate 49 vehicles.

As revealed by YIMBY in 2020, the façade will comprise a mix of brick masonry, a standard floor-to-ceiling punched window system, and private balconies. The massing will feature a ten-story central volume, set back from the property’s boundaries facing Bedford Avenue and St. Johns Place. Along both these streets are two eight-story volumes that flank the property and create the appearance of a wedge at the corner intersection.

In previous renderings, the eight-story volumes featured a red brick façade with brown accents.

To date, the project team has not confirmed the mix of units and rent rates, what the residential amenities will include, nor an anticipated date of completion.

  1. Looks like there is some nice brick detailing, hopefully that won’t be value engineered out.

    • Agreed. The fact they would make a point on creating updated renderings reflecting a relatively minor design tweak seems like a good sign.

I’m very interested in obtaining one I’m very interested in obtaining 1 of these affordable housing apartments!

  7. The rent rates for those units will probably be 2k and up for a studio, and they will call it affordable, and the politicians just want your vote, to keep crownheights unaffordable for the blacks who been living there for decades
