Permits have been filed for a 10-story mixed-use building at 280 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan. Located between 24th and 25th Streets, the lot is two blocks from the 23rd Street subway station, serviced by the C and E trains. Maria Rosenfeld of Red Apple Group under the CATS 280 Eighth Avenue LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 113-foot-tall development will yield 58,021 square feet, with 52,432 square feet designated for residential space, 4,642 square feet for commercial space, and 947 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 64 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 819 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 24-foot-long rear yard.

Hill West Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
