Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 11 Essex Street in Chinatown, Manhattan. Located between Hester Street and Canal Street, the lot is steps from the East Broadway subway station, serviced by the F train. Medel Payumo under the 11 Essex Street Realty LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 105-foot-tall development will yield 12,799 square feet, with 11,192 square feet designated for residential space and 1,607 square feet for commercial space. The building will have eight residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,399 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 30-foot-long rear yard.
Workshop Design + Architecture is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
