The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1079 Lafayette Avenue, a four-story residential building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Sander Weiss’s Brooklyn-based Gelu Durus Musica and developed by 1079 Lafayette Holdings LLC, the structure yields 22 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are seven units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,000 to $187,330.
Residences come equipped with dishwashers, washers and dryers, and name-brand countertops, kitchen appliances, and finishes. Amenities include storage, pet-friendly policies, bike storage, and a rooftop terrace. Tenants are responsible for electricity, which includes heating, stove, and hot water.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there is one studio with a monthly rent of $2,100 for incomes ranging from $72,000 to $138,840 and six two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,500 for incomes ranging from $85,715 to $187,330.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than December 16, 2022.
