Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 1187 Ocean Avenue in Midwood, Brooklyn. Located between Glenwood Road and Farragut Road, the lot is near the Newkirk Plaza subway station, serviced by the B and Q trains. Mohammed Azad of Titan Contracting Corp. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 90-foot-tall development will yield 22,522 square feet, with 17,956 square feet designated for residential space and 4,566 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 25 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 718 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 40-foot-long rear yard.
Luis Pichardo is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

What happens to those windows in the building to the left?
I’m not sure there is zero lot line zoning in this particular area. If so they will likely find themselves looking out into a shallow air shaft, like how its always been done. If not it will probably have a narrow gangway but with essentially the same result.
The building on the left is much older than the building on the right so it’s likely they are required egress and and easement in front of them is surveyed into the lot. The new building obviously has no lot line windows in wise anticipation for future development.
so the last holdout couldn’t take being surround by the disaster buildings on it’s left and right and finally sold.
This is so sad.
No more quaint houses with columns and porches.
Put up out of context pieces of crap and destroy any history left.

The white brick apartment building has stood for decades, since 1964 to be exact. JFK was president when it was under construction. You don’t have a clue what you are talking about. You seem to be longing for a NY from the 1910s since you seem conpletely unaware that big apartment houses have been replacing little single family homes for a century.
