Permits have been filed to expand a two-story structure into a nine-story mixed-use building at 5722 7th Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Located between 57th Street and 58th Street, the interior lot is near the 8th Avenue subway station, serviced by the N train. Wei Wang of Dyker and Brooklyn NY Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 95-foot-tall development will yield 45,718 square feet, with 38,404 square feet designated for residential space and 7,314 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 53 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 724 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 31-foot-long rear yard, one commercial loading berth, and 69 enclosed parking spaces.
HPL Engineering is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for an expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
