The affordable housing lottery has launched for Ways Reef Apartments, a six-story mixed-use building at 26-19 2nd Street in Astoria, Queens. Designed by Anthony Diproperzio AIA and developed by Daniela Development Co., the structure yields 25 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are eight units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $85,715 to $198,250.
Amenities include a garage with electric vehicle charging stations, pet-friendly policies, shared laundry room, recycling center, elevator, and a rooftop terrace. Units come equipped with dishwashers, air conditioning, smart controls for heating and cooling, and name-brand kitchen countertops and finishes. Tenants are responsible for electricity.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are three one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,500 for incomes ranging from $85,715 to $165,230; four one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,800 for incomes ranging from $96,000 to $165,230; and one two-bedroom with a monthly rent of $3,344 for incomes ranging from $114,652 to $198,250.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than August 14, 2023.
