Permits have been filed for a seven-story residential building at 755 East 85th Street in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Located between Glenwood Road and Flatlands Avenue, the lot is near the 105th Street subway station, serviced by the L train. Vilson Lumaj is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 64-foot-tall development will yield 70,237 designated for residential space. The building will have 106 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 662 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar, 41 enclosed parking spaces, and 12 open parking spaces.

Badaly Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed this month for the one-story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Is there nowhere this “architect” won’t go to make the place look worse?

    • Canarsie isn’t know for it’s great architecture. It’s mostly post war infill and Fedders stuff

      • I know much of Canarsie isn’t pretty… That has nothing to do with my contempt for Badaly “designs”.

        • Righ. But Badaly designs, while not great, are still better than Fedders stuff and about as good as the postwar infill stuff.

    There’s no way a building with 106 residences can fit on that tiny lot, with 41 enclosed parking spaces, surrounded by those tiny low-rise buildings. And, there’s no way such a large building is even zoned for that area. NYC DOB should revoke all those building permits immediately. Glenn in Brooklyn, NY.
